I am a supportive Counsellor, who focuses on person centred and companionship counselling. I am registered with the Council for Counsellors in South Africa, Registration Number CO 2066. My qualifications are as follows: I have a B.A. Degree in Theology and Pastoral Counselling. Don't worry, I am not going to hit you over the head with a Bible and I do not preach. I see people of other beliefs, there is no judgement here. LGBQT+ are welcome too. I also have a level one and level two certification in Gestalt Play Intervention, so I also see children as well. Counselling sessions are conducted in a professional environment, it is a safe space, peaceful and tranquil as well. Sessions can be conducted in person, or on-line. Except where children are concerned, children between the ages of 5 and 10 years old cannot do online therapy, it just does not work. My background as a counsellor began working with Substance Abuse Disorder, I spent 7 years in that environment and have been self-employed for the last four and a half years. I have experience assisting with trauma, abuse of any kind, emotional management, grief, everyday life issues, relationship / marriage counselling, stress management and anger management. I love working with teenagers. I can assist addicts in recovery to maintain sobriety after primary care has been completed. I can also assist families who are struggling with someone who is in addiction. I am also happy to come and talk at support groups about addiction as well as co-dependency. Whatever I do, I do my best to assist my clients. If I am not able to assist, I do have a referral system well in place. All ethical standards are adhered to; I am a professional person. My fees are reasonable as I understand the need for counselling and assistance and that it is often out of reach for a lot of people. If need be, payment plans can be arranged as well.
